Brandon Browner has just dug himself an even deeper hole in an already-bad situation.

It was reported earlier in the week that former New England Patriots defensive back, Brandon Browner, was arrested for kidnapping and burglary after breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home, trapping her inside and stealing a $20,000 Rolex.

And now his charges just got even worse.

According to MassLive.com, Browner is being charged with attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend, along with other charges of robbery, burglary, false imprisonment and child endangerment.

Officials say Browner broke into his former girlfriend’s apartment in La Verne, CA on July 8 and allegedly chased the victim, dragged her and then smothered her in a carpet. He also allegedly physically harmed and made threats to kill the victim inside her home, all while her two children were present.

Browner’s bail was set at $10 million, and he could possibly be facing a maximum sentence of life in a state prison if he is convicted.
