However, Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network is reporting that Gordon may be looking at another indefinite suspension for violating terms of his reinstatement.
#Patriots WR Josh Gordon is facing another indefinite suspension for violating terms of his reinstatement under the substance abuse policy, per source. He announced today he’s stepping away to address his mental health.— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) December 20, 2018
This is exactly the risk the Patriots knew they were taking when they acquired Gordon for a fifth-round pick earlier this year. While he has been a productive player for Tom Brady and company, another indefinite suspension has the potential to ruin his career for good.
Hopefully Gordon can get his health in check.
UPDATE: Gordon has officially been suspended indefinitely by the NFL.
