Poll: Would you welcome Kevin Faulk back?

Boston Herald:
Kevin Faulk resumed his training regimen for the upcoming season, badly hoping for one more opportunity to wear a Patriots uniform.

Yet, the running back isn’t under contract, and he said the team hasn’t reached out about returning for a 14th season. That still hasn’t derailed his anticipation to play in 2012.

“I hope so. I’m still praying, hoping,” Faulk said. “If it doesn’t happen, hey, I had a long run. God has blessed me with a long career as a running back, as a football player in general. But if it doesn’t happen, hey, I’m moving on.”

Strong words from Kevin Faulk. He's a true Patriot, a team leader and a first ballot Patriots Hall of Famer like Troy Brown. However, things do not look promising for Faulk even if he is signed by the team.

The Patriots added Joseph Addai as a veteran presence at the position this off-season. Second year players Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen are likely to share most of the load at this spot. Undrafted rookie free-agent Brandon Bolden also likely figures to be in the mix during training camp.
