FINALLY!

Well Pats fans, it has been a long and fruitful offseason for our favorite franchise. Belichick and his staff have at times impressed (trading up in the first round) and at times perplexed (Tavon Wilson, Jeremy Ebert) but the common refrain has been in Belichick we trust. I for one am ready to stop speculating and start to actually have answers. Training camp begins tomorrow ladies and gentleman and it will be a great show.

With last seasons bitter Super Bowl loss, I really had a jaded outlook heading into this offseason. I felt like my Patriots may have seen their window close before I even realized it. I now believe that conclusion was a common and simple over reaction. The Patriots are actually still stacked pretty much everywhere. The rebuild on defense has positioned the Pats with younger athletes up front and the potential for great depth to keep crucial pieces like BIG VINCE fresh and firing on all cylinders. And the tight end situation? Wow are we getting out of control. In a very good way.

Coming into this offseason there was a hobbled Gronk, very premature Hernandez contract speculation, and not much else. Then we robbed the Giants for Jake Ballard (a savvy move because we only have to keep him active past the 75 man cut) who may sit this year, and added Fells. Fells is a decent depth option and certainly at least can take reps in preseason play. Then just to pile on and flex for the rest of the league Visanthe Shiancoe signed on. His numbers were down last year but he was playing on a shitty team that was missing Adrian Peterson for much of the year and had a rookie QB from October forward. Well that dry well is gone and Shiancoe is about to get wet with opportunities. This offense is guided by a Legendary QB (you know the know name) and has options aplenty to distract defenses. I really can not stress how monstrous this offense will be if the offensive line comes together in training camp.
