Now the Jets are trash talking themselves

The soap opera that is the New York Jets is fun to watch. Ususally their players send spiteful comments towards the Patriots. It's rare that they get a response.

So, Antonio Cromartie, King of Jets smack talk, has turned his trash talking energy to the next logical place, his own team. After one of the major issues for the Jets last year was a dysfunctional locker room, how could a little infighting in training camp possibly hurt?

Cromartie has been taking a few snaps at wide receiver in Jets camp. He even went as far as to tell ESPN's First Take that he is the second best receiver on the team.

"Kerley is a more of a slot receiver, he's a slot guy," Cromartie said. "Stephen Hill is a younger guy that can get down the field. I think, for me, I can run every single route in the route tree. I'm not going to take anything away from my ability, so when you ask me that question, I'm going to say, yes, I believe I'm one of the best receivers on the football team, next to Santonio Holmes."

Of course, Jets receiver Chaz Schilens took exception to the comments.

"Yeah, and it's not something I would say. Let him think what he wants," Schilens said, also adding that Cromartie doesn't get the position.

"I'm aware of what was said," said coach Rex Ryan, who arguably created this beast. "I'm on top of it. I'm aware of it. It won't be a problem. We're not playing it out through the media. I'm aware of it. I'll handle it."

Oh how fun, the NFL.com article puts it best when it says..

"This feels like a story that would only happen on the Rex Ryan era Jets."

Just keeps on reinforcing the fact that the Jets are the bizzaro Patriots.
