Tampa Bay favorites to land Jeff Demps

A team official concedes it's a "long shot" that Demps ends up in Philadelphia, likely because other teams could drive up the price. The Bucs are considered the frontrunner to land Demps, though the Jets are asking former Gators teammate Tim Tebow to begin a recruiting effort.

I've already stated my thoughts on Demps. Signing him is a no-brainer. Could the Patriots use a returner who is also one of the fastest runners in the world? The answer is obvious.

Demps might have played all of this perfectly. He went undrafted because he told teams that he was going to focus on track. However, if he had been drafted he would not be making nearly as much money as he is going to get in this free-agent bidding war that is going on now.
