Kellen Winslow asks to be released by the Patriots
TE Kellen Winslow asked for and received release from Patriots, per source. Also sounds like Aaron Hernandez healing quicker than expected.

Apparently Winslow has been declining to speak with reporters in the locker room.
He had one catch in his debut as a Patriot. He was brought on really only because of Hernandez's injury. Hernandez was seen walking fine through the locker room today so it may be an indication that he's healing faster than expected - though don't expect him to play this week.
Winslow only played four snaps on Sunday and had one catch. The report is he asked for his release, so it's unclear why he wanted out so soon. I'm willing to bet that he was not healthy enough.
The Patriots do have a bit of a logjam at the position though. Even with Hernandez out there is Gronk, Hoo-Man and Fells. Shiancoe is on temporary IR and slated to come back around Week 10.
