Guess what? Everyone else sucks too

I know many Patriots fans are feeling nothing but frustration and depression after a loss to the Seahawks and a mediocre start to the regular season.

Some are even questioning whether the Patriots can win the AFC East. Some fans have even taken it to a whole other level and asked whether the Pats make the playoffs. Let's calm down now, as Tommy said yesterday.

If you think the Patriots are in serious trouble, you're overreacting.

Either that or you're living in a bubble that only contains the New England Patriots. The Pats may be 3-3 and as Tom Brady so aptly put this morning on WEEI, "that sucks." However, in case you didn't know, the rest of the AFC sucks too.

You know who else is 3-3 in the AFC right now? The Steelers, Bengals, Jets, Broncos, Chargers, Bills and Bengals. The Patriots are almost undeniably the best team out of that crop.

In fact there are only two teams in the conference. TWO. That are over .500 through six weeks. That's the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens, both 5-1.

Do the Texans, who lost Brian Cushing and just got blown out by Green Bay look like an indestructible force? No.

Do the Ravens, who just lost Ladarius Webb and Ray Lewis for the season, seem like their destined for a 15-1 season? Nope.

So while it might "suck" to be 3-3. The Patriots are still in a good position here. Everyone else has sucked too.

Seriously, only two teams in the entire conference have a winning record. Think about that. The Patriots could go 11-5 and conceivably get a No. 2 seed.

The Patriots need to beat the Jets first, and then get on their way to playing wining football. Which, usually happens around this time anyway. If the Patriots can win the next two (Jets, Rams) and get into Week 10 at 5-3, they'll be at the exact same record they were at that point last year. And guess what? That team went to the Super Bowl.
