Donte Stallworth returns to Patriots, Edelman out awhile

The injuries keep piling up for the Patriots, and as a result, so do the roster moves.

Julian Edelman was injured in the Patriots game yesterday against the Dolphins and was seen leaving the stadium in crutches and a walking boot. It's likely Edelman will miss significant time.

Enter Donte Stallworth.

CSNNE:
CSNNE.com Patriots Insider Tom E. Curran confirms that the Patriots will sign WR Donte' Stallworth, as reported by Pro Football Talk.

Curran also reports that a deal is not done yet, but the two sides hope to finalize things by tomorrow.

Stallworth had one year with the Patriots, the 16-0 2007 season. He was brought onto the team for training camp but after having some consistent case of the drops, he did not stick.

It's great to see Stallworth back with the team, but a real shame about Edelman. It has seemed like Julian Edelman has finally been able to make an impact as a receiver. However, he just can't stay on the field. After a big game against the Ravens, he sustains a hand injury that sidelined him for several weeks. He has another big game against the Jets and then leaves early with a head injury. Next game, he has a foot injury that will keep him on the inactive list for some time.
