Have the New York Jets got the next Tom Brady?

No.

But let's talk about it.

Basically, former New York Jets defensive lineman Marty Lyons thinks that the Jets number three Quarterback Greg McElroy has had a similar story to New England Patriots leader, legend and 3 time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady.

And you can see the similarities. McElroy did well at college level with Alabama, but still only got drafted in the seventh round. Brady also did well with Michigan, and he fell to the sixth round (not many people know that about Brady...).

But let's actually think about this. Brady came into the New England starting job with a far better coach than what McElroy has. And the Pats defense of 2001 is better than the Jets current defense. AND, based on this season anyway, Brady still had more weapons. Well, he had Troy Brown.

Brady's story is legendary as a once in a lifetime thing. Heck, the closest we've come is Aaron Rodgers, who fell to the 24th overall pick. Everything fell right for Brady. However, with the news Mark Sanchez will start next week, a certain Tim Tebow at number 2, and a coach under fire... I just don't see it.

But then again, no-one saw Brady coming along and doing what he did. McElroy came in and threw a TD against a team who haven't won since week 4. Not exactly beating Peyton Manning in your first start. But no-one can predict the future, and McElroy could become the next Brady...

But I don't think so.
