Tom Brady told Ed Reed he's sorry for kicking him

This one little play has certainly gotten a lot of attention. With the final seconds of the second quarter counting down, Tom Brady scrambled, was surrounded by defenders, and then slid awkwardly with his leg going right for Reed's, umm, leg. The Patriots went on to kick a field goal while the Ravens went on to win the game. Apparently that wasn't good enough for some of them.

First Bernard Pollard came out and declared that Tom Brady should be fined for this "heinous" act. Yes the very same man who has single handedly torn Brady's ACL, Welker's MCL and ACL, broke Rob Gronkowski's ankle, and concussed Stevan Ridley. That guy thinks Tom Brady sliding into Ed Reed is a terrible action.

Well, apparently Brady thought it at least warranted an, "I'm sorry".

CSNNE.com:
"Leg is feeling alright. A little sore right now," Reed told WJZ-FM. "A little slide kick [from Brady], you know what I'm saying. But it's a tough spot the quarterback's in. You know, I understand Brady's point. Him protecting himself. I know he's a great player. I respect Brady and his game for all it stands for, and I know he's not a dirty player. And emotions get going in the game."

Reed said Brady broached the incident via text. The pair ended up talking on the phone, with Brady making an apology.

"I told him, 'You know, it's good, man.' "

While some Ravens have been acting like total classless douchebags after their victory, others have actually been pretty cool about it. Ed Reed hasn't been running his mouth and Ray Lewis - for as much crap as he's gotten - has been pretty quiet as well.

Anyway, the NFL is investigating this so Brady could get fined. Or nothing could happen.

This Ravens fans play by play of the incident is pretty funny:
