Jeff Demps informs Patriots he wants to return to Track and Field
So running back Jeff Demps just threw everyone through a loop here. The former silver medal winning Olympic sprinter turned Patriot might just be returning to being just a sprinter.
Rappaport does say he wants to play two sports. So that's likely the Patriots call on whether or not they are OK with that. My bet is that they aren't. This just put a wrench in the "finally we have a guy to return kicks" idea. Demps is obviously fast and he was actually pretty impressive in the limited preseason time we got see of him.
Unfortunately he injured himself very late in the final preseason game against the Giants and was placed on season ending Injured Reserve.
