Bernard Pollard, the Patriot killer, is released from Baltimore
Wooooo! hooooo!!!
I hate this guy so much. Not as a person, of course. I hate him as a guy that is always injuring all our players. Here's the list, in case you haven't been keeping track.
1. Tom Brady tears ACL in 2008 after Pollard goes at his knees with Kansas city.
2. Wes Welker tears ACL in 2009 trying to avoid Pollard in Houston.
3. Pollard causes Rob Gronkowski's ankle injury in 2011 AFC Championship game, Gronk rendered useless in Super Bowl.
4. Pollard knocks Stevan Ridley unconscious, causing fumble and Ridley does not return in 2012 AFC Championship game.
The Patriots play the Ravens this year so it's a great sign he won't be with them. Of course, he could just as well sign with any other team. Like the Jets or something.
Maybe the Patriots can sign him to reverse the curse. Rodney Harrison did say that the Patriots could use a safety like Pollard. Then again, if they did that he would probably just injure everyone in places like training camp, the locker room, on drives to the stadium and eventually it might culminate in him accidentally injuring the pilot of one of the team's flights and taking the only parachute on board, leaving the entire team to perish.
Or, you know, maybe not.
The Ravens are clearing a ton of their players out. Some see that as a sign of the end for them, I don't. Ozzie Newsome knows what he is doing. The Ravens were kind of a bad team all year that just got hot at the right time. They certainly were not perfect and need some fixing if they want to get back to the Super Bowl.
