John Abraham visiting the Patriots, he may have signed already?

I know, I know. It's early. Still, it's always frustrating when you see teams locking up the elite talent and your team just sits idly by and lets your best receiver go to your rival for very little money. But anyway, I digress.

Atlanta Falcon's pass rusher John Abraham is set to visit with the Patriots. In fact, he's already here according to Albert Breer.

There's a rumor on Reddit that says he signed with the Patriots. Of course, that's super unreliable, but still just because you're not a reporter doesn't mean you don't know things. This random guy says his girlfriend met John Abraham and he told her he signed with the Patriots.

So this is my brothers account, I'm just a lurker, but this needs to be posted
My girlfriend just met John Abraham and he said he just signed with the pats. He showed her the email on his phone and everything. This is nowhere in the news right now.

edit: This was at the airport in Florida heading up to Logan tonight.

Anyway, John Abraham is one of the aging big name pass rushers that are still left on the market - he along with Dwight Freeney, Osi Umenyiora and James Harrison. I thought - and hoped - the Patriots would go after Freeney but it figures they would choose Abraham.

Atlanta didn't exactly have the greatest pass rush last year, but Abraham had a good year. He had 10 sacks and tied a career high six fumbles. The 34 year old still has some gas left in the tank, despite being a cap casualty in Atlanta, and his experience could be greatly served grooming young Chandler Jones.

It would also be sweet taking another former Jet, after just signing Leon Washington earlier today. Though, of course, Abraham hasn't been with the Jets in like seven years.

In his 13 years as a pro he has been to four pro bowls and was a first team All-Pro twice.
