Now Ex-Jet Sione Pouha could garner Patriots' interest

Many Jets players have been cap causalities recently. First notable names like Bart Scott and Mike DeVito and just today it was Sione Pouha getting the axe.

We Patriots fans do enjoy the Jets having to cut players from the same roster which, before last season, Rex Ryan called the most talented he's had as coach. However, there's another reason this is being posted, Pouha could be a good fit for the Patriots.

He was one of Rex Ryan's favorite players, and say what you want about Rex, but he knows defense. Alongside Vince Wilfork, it would be a challenge to run on the Patriots D. Of course, it comes down to money and it's not clear how much Pouha will command.

Pouha was not fully healthy last year, but that's not the reason he's being let go in New York just one year after signing him to a three-year extension. Cutting him clears $3.8 million in cap room, which the Jets are desperately trying to clear up. With Revis probably getting shipped out of town, it's looking more and more like the Jets will be even less of a threat this next year as new GM John Idzik tries to clean up Mike Tannenbaum's mess.
