Matt Cassel: "I taught Tom Brady everything". Ok, calm down he was joking.

Tom Brady lives in a Castle, Matt Cassel's name sounds like Castle

Back in 2009, Matt Cassel and Mike Vrabel were sent to Kansas City for what turned out to be Patrick Chung.

Well, that deal really worked out for everyone didn't it?

Now Cassel is resuming his role as a backup quarterback, this time behind Christian Ponder. That sure is quite a fall for the one time starting quarterback for the Chiefs. Of course, Cassel hasn't lost everything. He still has that wonderful sense of humor!

NFL.com:
"I taught Tom (Brady) everything. I thought he really started to flourish after I got there," Cassel joked to the St. Paul Pioneer Press on Wednesday. "A lot of people don't understand how much time we spend together. It's important to be together and be good teammates. And when you have a good (quarterback) room, it makes everybody better in the room. That's what it's all about."

Cassel's 2008 season is a reminder that Bill Belichick is an amazing coach. How he didn't win coach of the year after going 11-5 with a backup quaterback, I'll never know. If they gave these awards out five years after the fact, there's no doubt Belichick would win it given what Cassel did as a starter in Kansas City.
