Would the Jaguars consider trading WR Justin Blackmon?

“I've made a mistake and I have no excuse. I am truly sorry and disappointed in myself for putting the Jaguars in this situation, and I look forward to putting this behind me and maturing and growing as a person."

This was Jaguars Wide Receiver Justin Blackmon's public response after being suspended four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. Team officials are reportedly very disappointed in Blackmon, especially since this is not the young WR's first run-in with authority. Prior to being signed, Blackmon was arrested on two DUI charges. After those incidents, the Jags included a team-friendly clause that would allow them to release the player without owing him any guaranteed money in the case that Blackmon was suspended.

Now, it does not look likely that the team is considering this option, however is there still a chance that they would like to move him? They would likely get some solid compensation for the 'developing star'. I use the term 'developing star' lightly, as Blackmon showed flashes of greatness last season, but still has a ways to go with both on the field and off the field issues.

As any fan would immediately wonder, 'could my team be interested?' I don't see why the Patriots wouldn't at least dip their toes in the water if the Jags were in fact shopping Justin Blackmon. However, this is all still speculation so don't hold your breath. It is always nice to keep an open mind though.
