Former Patriots QB Mike Kafka Picked Up by Jacksonville

The Jacksonville Jaguars have struck again in the grabbing of an ex-Patriot player in signing the quarterback castaway Mike Kafka. The Jaguars have claimed Brandon Deaderick, Kyle Love and Jeremy Ebert from the Patriots all within the last month or so.

Kafka was the Patriots third string quarterback and was released around the same time as the signing of Tim Tebow. Obviously this isn’t a huge releasing, but Kafka will definitely have more of an opportunity to work his way into the quarterback position in Jacksonville than here under Tom Brady and Ryan Mallet.

Jacksonville has five quarterbacks on their 90-man roster and all of them are mediocre at best with the starter being Blaine Gabbert. Gabbert has thrown 21 touchdowns to 17 interceptions in his two-year career with a QBR of 27.8. Among the other names are Chad Henne, Jordan Rodgers and Matt Scott. Like I said, there’s way more of an opportunity in Jacksonville so good for Kafka.
