Ed Reed blames Brady for hip injury

The karate kick that was seen around the world. Did Tom Brady purposely try to get a shot on former Ravens safety Ed Reed or was it simply a quick reflex that the QB had no control of? We don't know. What we do know is that Brady was fined $10,000 by the NFL.

The Ravens went on to defeat the Patriots and then win the Super Bowl a couple weeks later. Reed and the team decided to part ways as the safety found a new home with the Houston Texans, however a hip injury has daunted him since the end of last season. Reed has some idea of where the injury was first originated;
“Only play I can look at is when I got kicked by a certain quarterback"
This is obviously a reference to the moment described above where Brady chose to slide rather than take a hit from Reed, then (intentionally or unintentionally) kicked him. Reed went on to explain that the hip injury isn't all that he is dealing with right now;
"Even then I had two MCL sprains, a second degree one in the left in the Super Bowl in the first quarter and played through that. So if you’ve got any questions about my heart and how I play and how I work (that’s your answer)"
Brady apologized for the incident, never revealing if he had actually tried to kick Reed or not.
