Aaron Dobson 2013 expectations

Recently, Patriots draft picks that are wide receivers, have fizzled out. Chad Jackson and Taylor Price to name a couple, the Pats have had back luck. Could that luck change this year with second round draft pick Aaron Dobson? According to reports, Dobson has been very successful so far in camp but it won't amount to anything until we see him tonight in Philadelphia. He has had a few highlight reel catches that remind people of Randy Moss, but will he turn out to be a key contributor for the Patriots?

Last season, Dobson was targeted 92 times and did not drop one ball which is a great stat for the Patriots. They have dealt with receivers recently that could not hang onto the ball, so having a reliable target for Tom Brady this season could go a long way. Dobson has the skill and the will to be a great receiver for this team. He could be the next big thing, especially with a young corps.

Realistically I could see Dobson get right into the action this season and become a number two target for Brady behind Danny Amendola. I'm predicting that Dobson amounts between 600-850 receiving yards with around 10-12 touchdowns this season. I do believe these expectations are realistic for a guy with Dobson's potential. Check out Dobson in action tonight when the Patriots take on the Philadelphia Eagles at 7:30 p.m.
