Former Patriot Brian Waters could sign for Cowboys

Brian Waters, 36, who was under contract with the Patriots last season but never reported to camp, may be signing with the Dallas Cowboys. Bryan Broaddus from the Cowboys backed up a report that there is a "real chance" the 6-time Pro Bowler will sign with the team.

Waters has said that he wants to sign with a team close to his home in Texas which would work in the Cowboy's favor. The team's two starters at guard, Nate Livings and Mackenzy Bernadeau, have been plagued with injuries and backup Kevin Kowalskie is going to be out for a few weeks with a bruised knee.

At the beginning of Waters' career he was with the Cowboys in 1999, but only on the practice squad. He then went on to play 10 years with the Kansas City Chiefs where he was a 2x All-Pro and played in 5 of his 6 Pro Bowls. While with the Patriots in 2011, he started every game and played in the Super Bowl after never having won a playoff game. @joeloobs @PatriotsLife
