Amendola: "I anticipate being 100% shortly"
Patriots wideout Danny Amendola, who was been sorely missed from the Patriots offense since a stellar performance week one vs. Buffalo, spoke with the media today and was extremely optomistic about returning from his groin injury soon.
According to a number of Patriots reporters, including ESPNBoston beat writer Mike Reiss, Amendola even went as far as saying he "anticipates being 100% shortly." This is extremely encouraging and somewhat surprising after a seemingly serious diagnosis just over a week ago, when it was reported he was dealing with a torn groin muscle and a potential sports hernia. With Amendola's history, speculation began to swirl that he could miss significant time.
The return of a healthy (key word: healthy) Danny Amendola and Rob Gronkowski could take the 3-0 Patriots team to the next level. The defense has played fantastic, and if the offense can elevate they will undoubtedly establish themselves as one of the league's top teams.
Amendola would not go as far as saying whether or not he will play Sunday vs. Atlanta. Gronk's status is still up in the air. But as of now it looks like the two will be catching passes from Tom Brady soon.
