Danny Amendola listed as doubtful to play tomorrow

As expected, the Patriots will be kicking off the season at Gillette stadium without their best offensive weapon.

Danny Amendola has struggled with a groin issue since preseason. He played through it on Sunday, which is likely the reason he will be sitting out the game tomorrow against the Jets.

Rob Gronkowski is also doubtful as he recovers from back surgery. He's not due back until week 4 or 5 at the earliest. Amendola can likely return next week.

While it's best to leave these two on the bench as they recover, it puts the Patriots in a tough spot going up against a still dangerous Jets defense.

The top receiver for the Patriots will be Julian Edelman. A seventh round quarterback turned receiver turned cornerback turned receiver again. Edelman had seven catches and two touchdowns in the team's season opener.

Rookie second round pick Aaron Dobson is also expected to suit up.

Also worth noting is that Matthew Slater found his way onto the injury report. Who needs receivers, right?
