Darrelle Revis Returns Compliments to Brady and States that Pats' Rookie Receivers are Improving

As many may remember, on Wednesday leading up to the New England Patriots game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tom Brady lauded the highest of praise onto Tampa cornerback Darrelle Revis. NESN quoted Brady saying:

“I’ve never played against anyone who is as good as him,” Brady said. “He’s as good as there is that I’ve ever played against, so you just have to be careful when you throw his way because you know he’s going to be close. There’s no one that’s going to be wide open, you’ve just got to make sure you put the ball in a position where only the receiver can catch it.”

Brady says this with a lot of prior knowledge of Revis's talents - as Revis has six seasons of playing against Brady under his belt as a member of the New York Jets. Well, Brady's feelings about Revis are returned right back to him by the All-Pro cornerback. Following the game last night, WEEI reports Revis saying:

“Yeah, he’s the best,” said Revis. “I think what they do is hard play action to suck the linebackers up and he threw it right over the top of them. He did that a lot. He sells the play action very well and he got us a couple of times on those routes.”

Revis and Brady continued to be on the same page about the Patriots receiving corps as well. Brady conceded that the offense was not an easy one to master (see: Joey Galloway), so he is very happy with their improvement. In the same WEEI post, Brady said:

“They’re doing a great job,” Brady said. “They’ve worked really hard to understand what we’re trying to do on a weekly basis and it changes a lot with our offense. It’s not like we do the same thing week to week all the time – we try and attack teams in different ways. Today we definitely made some adjustments throughout the first quarter, second quarter, and we did a good job adjusting and really trying to understand what we need to do to put drives together.”

Like I said before, even Darrelle Revis offered a bit of praise to the young offense.

“They don’t have the veteran experience at the receiving corps, but they played well today and they are improving — they are looking alright,” said Revis.
