Patriots testing free agent waters

The Patriots went exploring with the recent discussions claiming Terrell Owens would be a good fit for the Patriots. The Patriots went as far as working out former Bills WR David Nelson who is coming off of an
ACL tear last season, Nelson has a solid frame at 6'5, 217 pounds and was a good contributor to the Bills offense.

However, aside from the workout David Nelson did not receive a contract. The Patriots also worked out three other WR's. Jared Green, Sam McGuffie and Terrence Toliver.

It remains unclear what the Patriots are up to, but the lack of signing tells me two things. 1: The WR's they worked out really suck, 2: They'd rather stick and develop their young guys first before bringing in new players.
