Stevie Johnson says Patriots can't stop him, doesn't know Pats roster

Stevie Johnson needs to do a little more research on the team's first game of the season.

The wide receiver is already back to flapping his mouth about the Patriots, after saying on twitter during the offseason that he hoped Gillette Stadium would get bombed.

Now he says that the Patriots won't be able to stop him from going off on Sunday. Johnson was asked by reporters why the Bills could compete in the AFC East. His response?

ESPN:
"Because I'm here," he said. "I don't think they have anybody to stop me. For real. I think we have guys in the receiver room that are as good as I am, if not better. I just have that confidence in my teammates and in myself."

Johnson is certainly a talented receiver, but before he goes and says the Pats don't have a single player that can stop him, he should probably familiarize himself with their roster first.

For one, Johnson has yet to play against corner Aqib Talib. He also still thinks Patrick Chung is on the Patriots.

"[He's] long, athletic, tries to play with vision," he said [of Talib]. "I have a lot of respect for [Patrick] Chung. [Devin] McCourty: he's a Pro Bowl player."

With Johnson having since April to prepare to face the Patriots in the first round, you would think he would study their secondary a bit more.

Both the yapping to the media and the lack of preparation are two ways you can differentiate a Patriots player from a Bills player. Another way? Their overall win-loss record.

Johnson got one final jab in at the Patriots backfield.

“I give a lot of credit to the Patriots. They play as one unit. … They’re aggressive. It’s going to be a test. It’s going to be a challenge,” he said. “But I still still think we can take advantage of their defense. … I’ll still ride with my boys over their guys.”

Maybe Stevie should quit bragging and get to studying.
