Richard Seymour on Patriots return, "No way"

So, you can cross that one off your list.

Richard Seymour was once an anchor on the Patriots dangerous defensive line. That line's gone through many changes over the years since he was traded away to Oakland for a first round pick. Ironically, the Seymour trade was made so that the team could have enough cash to extend Seymour's buddy Vince Wilfork.

Now with Wilfork out for the year, the Patriots thin defensive line is in need of some bodies. Seymour is still out there, but the sting of that trade is apparently still too much.

“No way,’’ Seymour told the Herald with a laugh. “But that’s sad news about Vince.’’

Seymour has apparently gotten some "veteran minimum" offers from teams, but has turned them down. Instead he's focusing on earning his pilot's license. He certainly could've been a big addition to this defensive line, but that bridge has been burned.

Funny now, when so many years ago the decision was whether to keep Seymour or Wilfork. Belichick now finds himself without either.
