Tedy Bruschi picks Broncos to win against the Patriots

So the Patriots are home dogs to the Broncos this weekend. Not many people believe they have a shot in this game, on account of the banged up defense and inexperienced offense. The secondary is gimpy, the interior d–line is decimated, Jerod Mayo is out, and things aren’t looking so great for a team that’s about to face the best offenses in football.

I completely understand why many analysts have the Broncos winning this game. ESPN employs many former players as analysts, and once they are analysts, they are expected to provide impartial analysis without showing bias towards their former teams. With that being said, watching one of my all-time favorite Patriots pick the Broncos to win on Sunday hurt my insides.

And that is exactly what Tedy Bruschi just did on SportsCenter. Bruschi has the Broncos winning 34-30, and even took things a little bit further when he was asked what his “bold prediction” for Sunday night’s game was. Being that Sebastian Vollmer is out for the season, Bruschi predicted that Von Miller will take advantage of backup right tackle Marcus Cannon, and notch 3 sacks on Sunday.

Yes, I understand the Patriots are underdogs this weekend for a reason. And I also get that ESPN pays Bruschi for his honest opinion each week. So what do I expect Bruschi to do in a situation like this? Lie. Lie. Lie. I don’t care if he’s the only analyst from any media outlet to pick the Patriots this weekend. As a fan, that’s what I want to see. Watching Bruschi pick against the Pats is like watching Wes Welker score touchdowns for another team. Oh wait…..
