Covering the Broncos receivers: Demayrius Thomas

This is the latest installment in how to game plan for the Broncos receivers. This time under the microscope? The other Thomas, Demaryius Thomas. He's one of the hottest receivers in the league right now, coming off back to back weeks with 100+ yards, so he'll certainly bear watching. He's got a total of 914 yards on the season. Last week, he didn't have a touchdown, but he had 121 yards with 5 catches including a 70 yarder and he looks well on the way to breaking his personal best for yards in a season (last year he had 1434). So how do the Patriots stop him? Well, to be completely honest, you can't, unless what's left of the Patriots secondary plays out of their mind. But I don't see that happening, so the best chance is to slow him down.

Aqib Talib would be ideal, but he'll have plenty to deal with, as he'll probably be on Julius Thomas. So I would say you put Kyle Arrington on Thomas, but there's no such thing as a good option with the Patriots secondary so beat up. The best plan would be to stick to him tight, only give him the short catches and wrap him up right away, also not give him any wiggle room. Plan B is bracket him and make sure that you have help over the top, because he'll be the guy Peyton Manning will look for with his mid-range passes, around 15-20 yards, so the Patriots will have to be alert for that.. It's hard, but that might be the best shot. Your thoughts? Tweet us or leave a comment below.
