Say hello to Marcus Cannon and goodbye to Nate Solder

At Patriots practice anyway.

We can't have someone return from injury, without another player also going down.

That's the Patriots way, and it was the case at practice today.

Marcus Cannon was thrust into a starting role at right tackle after Sebastian Vollmer went down against the Dolphins earlier in the year. Cannon then injured his own ankle in the game against the Broncos.

He's been out ever since, until no! However, starting left tackle, Nate Solder, is now missing.

ESPNBoston:
Starting left tackle Nate Solder and rookie wide receiver Aaron Dobson were not spotted at the start of Patriots practice on Wednesday morning, which was held indoors in advance of the team's Week 15 trip to Miami to take on the Dolphins.

Solder did not appear to be injured at any point during this past Sunday's win over the Browns, and it is not immediately clear why he was not present to start the practice. Dobson, meanwhile, has been out since suffering a foot injury in Week 12 against the Broncos.

While the Patriots were without one starting offensive tackle in Solder, Marcus Cannon, who has stepped into a starting role with Sebastian Vollmer on injured reserve, returned to practice for the first time since a Week 12 ankle injury.

You can't win them all.

It remains to be seen how serious Solder's injury is but it bears watching. The Pats are already pretty thin on the offensive line with Cannon's status for Sunday's game being no guarantee.

If Solder now misses time it might put Cannon or Will Svitek protecting Tom Brady's blindside. Yikes.
