A Call To Arms: Weston Dressler, A cheap CFL All-Star and Champion
Who? Unless you leave near the American/Canadian National border, or if your a fan of the Canadian Football League, you'd understand exactly who this is. Weston Dressler was a WR for the defending Grey
Cup Champions Saskatchewan Roughriders. And good new Pats fans, he would sign for a cheap deal.
Dressler was introduced to the CFL way back in 2008 out of the University of North Dakota, Dressler went undrafted in the NFL Draft and signed a deal with the Rougheriders in prior to the 2008 CFL season. Many CFL and NFL fans have drawn comparisons to him and Wes Welker since they both are small and have very quick feet and good hands. Since being signed, Dressler has been extremely productive for the Roughriders, here are his stats by the seasons.

*Worth noting is the fact that the CFL plays 18 games, the numbers next to the year was the amount of games he appeared in that season.
Enough with the stats, Dressler's information, strengths, weaknesses, and everything else. Dressler is only 5'8 and weighs only 178 pounds. Undersized yes, but nevertheless he is effective. Dressler was awarded an All-Star in 2012 and 2013 and was a key part to the Saskatchewan Roughriders run to The Grey Cup this past CFL season.
Dressler's strengths are ultimately his quickness and hands, Dressler is much comparable to Wes Welker as they are both undersized WR's. Dressler also has made some very spectacular catches over the years in the CFL. Dressler is also a very good return man and has set 19 school records at the University of North Dakota.
The knocks on Dressler is that he is undersized and no one really knows if his CFL success will translate into the NFL. Dressler was awarded a tryout to the Kansas City Chiefs a few weeks back and is still being talked about in KC.
