PFT: Broncos don't expect to re-sign Moreno

NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Broncos may not re-sign running back Knowshon Moreno. There will obviously be interest in Moreno, as he is coming a career year. He rushed for over 1,000 yards and 13 TD's in the 2013 season, according to PFT.

The question is, what are the chances of the Patriots signing him? The running game may be a strength now, but both Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen are in contract years. With Ridley's fumbling issues and Shane Vereen's injury problems, though, it may be a good idea to look into signing Moreno. Vereen and Ridley might not be back after next season, which would leave us thin at running back. Moreno tore us apart when we squared off in November, when the Patriots beat Denver in New England.

I would say it is a good idea to at least consider going after Knowshon Moreno, because who knows if Vereen and Ridley will be back after next season? Lagarrette Blount is great and he has a great future, but he'll need help if Ridley and Vereen don't come back. Moreno could be the answer long-term if he decides to leave Denver after the season and test free agency.
