Andre Carter calls Wes Welker's hit nasty

As everyone continues to weigh in on Wes Welker's hit on Aqib Talib that knocked the All Pro corner out of this past Sunday's AFC championship, veteran Patriots player Andre Carter is backing his head coaches feelings on the play;
Carter calling it nasty leaves room for interpretation  as to whether it was a dirty hit or not.  Images show that contact is initiated by Welker behind the play just before the ball reaches Demaryius Thomas.

This should have resulted in a penalty on the field, there is no doubt in that. Whether Wes meant to injure Aqib is tough to say considering his own injury history. Yet after watching the replay it appears Welker intended to set a pick on his route and he shifts his lane to cut off Talib from Thomas and makes the contact seem deliberate. Whether Welker meant to or not, the notion in New England is that it was dirty and sometimes perception is reality.
