Tom Brady skips the Pro Bowl...again

In the least shocking news of all time, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has politely declined the invite to the Pro Bowl.

ProFootballTalk:
Players from the teams that lost in the conference championship games are also bowing out, however. That group includes Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who won’t be making the trip to Hawaii for the game. Brady joins Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson as quarterbacks replaced since the team was originally announced.

Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith will take his place.

Never one to like losing much, the Patriots quarterback has not appeared in the game in 10 years. That's right. 2004 was the last time he went. Of course, if you had the choice between playing a meaningless game in Hawaii with a bunch of guys who pretty regularly vote you as the player they hate the most OR hanging out with your super model wife, which would you chose?

I would probably choose the latter.

Also, it makes sense that Brady would feel better about playing in the Pro Bowl in 2004 than he has the past 10 years. 2004 was the last time he won the Super Bowl, so of course he'd be feeling up for some more football. That was back when the Pro Bowl was after the Super Bowl obviously. Even now, after a big loss in the AFC Championship game, Brady takes these hard so he might want to just get away from it all for awhile.

Whatever the reasoning, it's business as usual for the Patriots QB. We won't be seeing him again until another embarrassing video or photo crops up of him during the off-season.
