Brady did not watch a single play of Andrew Luck's comeback

While the rest of the world was mesmerized by the Indianapolis Colts' incredible comeback led by young phenom Andrew Luck, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady decided to focus solely on the defense. Sure, Luck and the offense made a miraculous run to overcome a 28-point deficit, but Brady is not interested in watching an opponent that will never step foot on the field at the same time as him:
“Truthfully, I’m not worried about the opposing quarterback,” Brady told Boston sports radio station WEEI, via Field Yates of ESPNBoston.com. “I’m thinking about the defense and what I need to do to play against them.
“I didn’t watch one snap of Indy’s offense, nor will I this week. I’ll be focused on the defense and what we need to do score points, because that’s what my job is.”

Even Patriots fans can appreciate the magnitude of Luck's incredibly clutch performance, but after being in the league as long as he has, Brady understands that there is no time to waste when it comes to playoff preparation. The Patriots defense will watch Luck's comeback multiple times for sure, but it is not the offense's job to focus on that. Instead of eyeing the Colts quarterback, Brady is more interested in outside linebacker Robert Mathis:
“And like I said, it all starts with Robert Mathis and being the defensive player of the year, basically, 19.5 sacks, he kind of wreaks a lot of havoc,” Brady said. “We’ve got to be able to figure out how to slow him down and then we’ve got to be really balanced on offense like we’ve been. We’ve got to run it, and when we throw, we’ve got to throw it good.”

It will take nothing less than a team effort for the Patriots to snag the W on Saturday night. What will surely be a thriller for neutral spectators, the game will likely keep Patriots fans and Colts fans on the edge of their seats. Andrew Luck has quickly become one of the league's premier quarterbacks. How he stacks up head-to-head with Brady could possibly bring about a new chapter in a lost Colts-Patriots rivalry.
