How do the Patriots best approach the Colts D - run, pass, or both?

The Colts defense is certainly a weak spot the Patriots could look to exploit tomorrow night. Not to take away from Andrew Luck, but the reason a comeback was necessary was because the defense struggled early. The Colts defense was ranked 30th this season, 27th against the run and 31st against the pass, so the question is - how do the Patriots attack the Colts defense tomorrow?

In the last 2 games of the season, the Patriots were committed to running the football, but the Colts secondary is weak , which the Patriots could exploit. The million dollar question is which option will bring the Pats more joy when the Pats have the ball tomorrow? The answer is balance. Like I mentioned above, the Colts are not good against either the run or the pass, so the best way to beat the Colts defense is to attack them using both the run and the pass. Despite the loss of main threats Shane Vereen and Rob Gronkowski out, the Patriots have other weapons that could hurt you. Running backs Lagarrette Blount and Stevan Ridley (when he holds the ball) can hurt you in the run, while Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola, among others, could hurt you in the pass game.

There you have it - the Patriots path to victory tomorrow is through balance on offense. The Pats have too many weapons to focus on just running or passing. Even with their main weapons from last year gone, other players, i.e. Blount, have stepped up to fill the void, which is why the Patriots should win this game.
