Weird title huh? Let me explain...
According to CSNNE.com, during the week ahead of the Brady / Manning bowl this past November, Patriots quarterback Ryan Mallet had one job. His job was to be Peyton Manning. This may sound weird but it all works out, as we noticed when the Patriots came back from down 24 to win in OT.
They note that Mallet does a perfect Peyton Manning. He flaps his arms, whispers to the linemen, shouts names of cities in the Mid-West, like Omaha. He does it all. The reason being is that Mallet grew up watching Manning, and now has the routine down pat. He also studies the footage from Manning's games so that he can make sure his representation is perfect.
When asked what he likes about it, mallet had this to say:
"Oh, I love it. I can’t wait. It’s my favorite week of the year when we get to play against Peyton, hopefully I can get another black jersey (given for outstanding practice work)."
This can only do good for the Patriots, as they can get a feel for what they have coming for them this Sunday in Denver. As for Mallet? Well, I personally think that this helps gain his notoriety on the team, as the better he does in preparing them for Denver, the more the team starts to look at him as someone who they can rely on in tight situations.
