Nick Caserio interviewing in Miami again, is he frustrated with Belichick?

Patriots Director of Player Personnel Nick Caserio has now spent the last two days interviewing for the Miami Dolphins open General Manager position.

It's come as a surprise to his colleagues, and even to some around the league.

Greg Bedard of Sports Illustrated, puts the theory out there that perhaps Caserio was getting sick of being overruled by Belichick in the draft.

Bedard of course puts this out there as one of many theories, suggesting that Caserio could be in Miami for a number of reasons. Still, Caserio has turned down many interview offers in the past (including the Colts vacant spot a couple years ago). Why is he interviewing for a job now, and with a division rival and in a messy situation?

It might be the control Bill has.

Belichick has been known to overrule his scouting department on occasion in the draft and take his own guys. That has been a source of frustration for some, but Belichick has ultimate power and can do what he wants. For that reason, it’s tough to tell who’s responsible for which draft picks, but Caserio’s good work has shown up in undrafted free agency and street free-agent pickups. Both areas have immensely helped the Patriots.

It's not just that, but it's that when Bill overrules the scouting department, it hasn't turned out too well.

It's an interesting theory, and even if that's not the reason Caserio is in Miami, you have to say Bill's track record with overruling everyone else is pretty bad.

The only good player out of all of those is maybe Duron Harmon, who shined in a backup role this season. Still, Harmon could've been an undrafted rookie if it weren't for Bill.

Whatever the case, we'll be sure to find out more as this process continues.
