Greg Schiano may join New England coaching staff

According to tweets from Boston Globe writer Ben Volin, Bill Belichick's Rutgers buddy Greg Schiano could be a new addition to the team's coaching staff this off-season, and there is a lot of "buzz" around the topic at the combine.

So what exactly is "buzz?" There was certainly a lot of buzz around Tom E. Curran's report that the Patriots could be interested in Larry Fitzgerald, and we saw how that panned out. This rumor seems a little bit more realistic given the well known relationship between Belichick and Schiano.

From the combined practices, to the endless Rutgers draft picks, to the job recommendations... we all know these two are essentially BFF's. It has been suggested Schiano could be a potential one year plug-in for former linebacker coach Pepper Johnson, who left the team to join the Buffalo Bills staff last month.

Schiano's name was in the headlines frequently this past season, for the wrong reasons. His authoritarian coaching style did not win over many players, and alienated several of them including Josh Freeman and Darrelle Revis.

What do you guys think? Would Schiano be a good fit in New England? Let us know on Twitter: @PatriotsLife and @LiamPCunningham.
