Darrelle Revis could return to New York? Jets and Revis talking

The Patriots have been heavily rumored to be in on Darrelle Revis.

However, they aren't alone. One of the latest teams to enter the fray is Revis' old team, the New York Jets.

New York Daily News:
The Daily News has learned that the Jets and the Darrelle Revis camp have discussed the possibility of a reunion one year after a bitter divorce sent the All-Pro cornerback to Tampa.

Revis was officially released by the Buccaneers shortly after 3:30 pm on Wednesday, jolting the free agent landscape across the league.

It's unknown whether the communication between the parties will ultimately lead to a reconciliation, according to sources, but the Jets are in need of an established cornerback after releasing Antonio Cromartie earlier this week.

Revis didn't part on the best terms in New York after spending five years there, but reportedly he still has a fondness for Rex Ryan and so a return is not impossible.

Revis would like to return to play for Rex Ryan. It's believed the feeling is mutual. However, it's uncertain whether Jets management and ownership would be amenable to bring back the difference-making cornerback after their rocky relationship in the past.

This would be a big blow for the Patriots after they lost Aqib Talib in free agency. They currently lack a number one corner and their rival Denver Broncos just got much better - signing Talib, Demarcus Ware and T.J. Ward.

Revis signing with the Patriots would be gut wrenching for the Jets and their fans, and they might be willing to do anything to keep that from happening.
