Harbaugh considers meeting Edelman an "honor" during free agency

It appears that Julian Edelman made quite the impression on 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh on his visit to San Francisco, as he had nothing but praise for the Patriots Wide Receiver according to nesn.com.

Edelman made the trip to San Francisco before re-signing with the New England Patriots for 4 years, $17 million dollars. Harbaugh had this to say about Edelman when he talked to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe:

“It was really an honor to meet him, what a classy young man. He’s got a great situation in New England. His understanding of football, where he is now as a player compared to where he was as a rookie, really resonated with me. Just how tough it is going from college to pro, trying to now defeat press coverage, to then get back to where your spot is, where you’re supposed to be in the route, then thinking about catching the football, and just how difficult it is, and that understanding and putting it all together doesn’t really happen until year three or four. It was very enlightening to me. I never had it explained so clearly to me as the way he did it.”

Although Edelman did grow up just south of San Francisco, he considers Foxboro to be home, and a home that we will see for at least 4 more years.

As for Harbaugh? Its great that he has the respect for Edelman, and there's always another chance in 4 years
