Jonathan Martin acquired by San Francisco 49ers, former coach

A lot of people have wondered whether Jonathan Martin would ever even play in the NFL again.

Martin, of course, famously abruptly left the Miami Dolphins midway through the seaosn. Reports later surfaced that he was being bullied and harassed by Richie Incognito. For awhile it seemed like that might not have actually been the case, but an intense NFL investigation found Incognito guilty of the bulling.

Martin will get another chance at being part of an NFL locker room as he's headed to San Francisco.

You have to think 49er coach Jim Harbaugh has to have something to do with this. Harbaugh was Martin's coach at Stanford. In the Wells report investigating the bullying, Harbaugh talked about how he still thought Martin could play in the NFL.

Via ProFootballTalk:
“Jim Harbaugh, Martin’s former head coach at Stanford and the current head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, told us that he had never doubted Martin’s tenacity, work ethic and dedication to the game, and that he had never seen Martin exhibit problems with social adjustment,” the report says. “Coach Harbaugh told us he believed that Martin likely could continue to have a successful career in the NFL. It appears that Martin was up to the challenge of dealing with physical or verbal intimidation by opposing players during NFL games, but fell victim, at least in part, to persistent taunting from his own teammates.”
