NFL considering extra point changes

Bill Belichick could get his wish next season. The NFL is considering changes to the extra point rule, according to MassLive.

Here's what Belichick said about it back in January:

"That's not the way the extra point was put into the game," Belichick said in January. "It was an extra point that you actually had to execute and it was executed by players who were not specialists, they were position players. It was a lot harder for them to do."

Conisdering that 99.6 percent of extra point attempts were converted according to Masslive, Belichick's overriding point that the extra point is a waste of time might, MIGHT, be just be taken into consideration by the league when they make any changes to the rule.

One possible solution, according to NFL.com, would be having the teams line up on the 25-yard line instead of the 20, which would make it a 43-yard attempt. That would make it more difficult for sure. I'm personally in favor of just abolishing the extra point all together and giving the teams 7 points, but that will never happen, so I'll just go with the moving it back solution.

There is no consensus as yet, according to MassLive, but the NFL promises the conversation is moving forward. What do you think? What would your solution be, or would you leave the extra point as is? Leave a comment and let us know!
