CJ Fiedorowicz has got ties to the Patriots

Expect this draft to be the year of the tight end.

After yours truly reinvented the tight end role with the drafting for Gronk and the mass murderer, TEs have become a staple of most every offense, and teams are constantly looking for the next big man that will cause nightmares for defensive coordinators. And this draft has plenty of these young men.

From Seferian-Jenkins to Niklas to Ebron to even the cocaine snorting, governmental conspiracist Lyerla, there is tons of athletic tight ends in this draft that everyone, the Patriots included, are drooling over.

The most recent name to pop up on Pats radars is Iowa’s C.J. Fiedorowicz (or Fiedro, which is what all his bros call him). He’s a 6-foot-5, 265-pounder that had 30 catches for 299 yards and 6 TD catches this past season. He is one of the best all around tight ends and many consider him to be the best blocker in this year’s draft.

He also has connections on connections with the Patriots organization. Belichick loves Iowa, with ties to head coach Kirk Ferentz as well as former Pats tight end coach Brian Ferentz, who worked with Fiedorowicz in Iowa.

I’d look for his name to pop up even more come draft time since he could easily be around at 29 and even be there later if the Pats decide to trade down.
