Gronk taking his time with recovery

According to a report by NFL.com, Dr. James Andrews says that Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is "right where he should be" in his recovery, but the Patriots aren't about to rush him back to action.

You can hardly blame the organization, though, given Gronk's injury history. This is Gronk's second straight off-season having major surgery. There's not much doubt about his abilities as a receiver - he's easily a top 3 tight end when healthy. That's just it, though - when healthy. I would rather see him miss 2-3 weeks of the season (if needed) and come back 100% than rush back and tear something else because he wasn't ready to come back.

I can't foresee how long it will take Gronk to come back (although I wish I could - it could have saved the Pats a lot of trouble last year), but Gronk was a candidate to go on the physically unable to perform list (PUP) and that may end up happening this year.

Again, more than anything, Gronk just needs to take his time and come back 100%. Although, with his luck, he'll end up having another major surgery next off-season.
