Patriots trade out of third round pick, now have three picks in tomorrow's fourth round

The Patriots surprised a lot of people by taking QB Jimmy Garoppolo with their second round pick. They surprised next to no one by making a classic Belichick trade out of their third rounder, sending it to Jacksonville in exchange for a fourth (105) and sixth (179) round pick. The Jaguars used the pick to select Miami guard Brandon Linder.

As a result of the deal, the Patriots now have three picks in the fourth round: 105, 130 and 140. The 140th pick cannot be traded, as it is a compensatory selection. They also have three picks in the sixth round (179, 198, 206) as well as their own seventh rounder (244).

It's shaping up to be an interesting final day of the draft tomorrow. Keep checking PatriotsLife for your updates as they make their picks.
