Retired Dante Scarnecchia still played a role in team's offensive line draft choices

Former Patriots offensive line coach, Dante Scarnecchia, was with the team for three decades. He finally hung it up and retired this off-season, but he just couldn't keep himself away completely.

Coach scar helped the Patriots workout two of the players they ended up drafting, Bryan Stork and Cameron Fleming, according to a report last week in the Boston Herald. He gave his thoughts to the Patriots coaching staff and scouts.

It's not clear whether this was simply Scarnecchia being obsessed with football still, or if he was simply filling in for new offensive line coach, Dave DeGuglielmo, for whatever reason.

Still, wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a regular thing around draft time, with Belichick seeking the advice of a coach as esteemed as Scar.
