Tommy Kelly, expected by some to be surprise cut, isn't worried about competition

Tommy Kelly just came off the PUP list this weekend and is already facing questions possibly being cut at the end of camp. Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston recently left him off of his latest final roster prediction. With the veteran defensive lineman coming off of ACL surgery, and having some young guns that got plenty of work last season behind him, it wouldn't be that much of a shocker to see Kelly go.

Still, he's not thinking about all that.

Patriots.com:
"Me personally, I ain’t ever worried about any competition, I love competition," Kelly said. "You don’t ever worry about what’s behind you, you worry about what’s in front of you. I’ve always been very confident in myself so I don’t see anybody. I just go out there and play. I let my talent take over and I’ll be OK.

Kelly was a real difference maker in the few games he was able to play last year. With him and Wilfork out of the lineup, all hell broke loose for the Patriots run defense. They finished third worst in the league in rushing defense.

Aside from his impact on the field, he certainly seems like a cool guy based on his quotes and the hilarious GIF he gave us last season (above). Here's to rooting for you, Tommy Kelly.
