Brian Tyms states that Randy Moss taught him to catch deep ball

We all saw it, mainly because it was one of the only impressive plays of the night for the Patriots. Garoppolo to Tyms for a long touchdown, and the play that finally got the Patriots on the board. But Tyms's play looked awfully good, almost like the old Randy Moss!

Turns out that Randy Moss did have something to do with it, he taught Tyms how to catch the deep ball.

“Yeah, that’s my favorite player,” Tyms said Sunday at Gillette Stadium after training camp of Moss. “That’s kind of the reason I signed (with the San Francisco 49ers) out of college. That was my favorite player, I wanted to learn everything I could from him. He’s a really good guy. He taught me a lot as far as deep ball, and everything like that.” The 6-foot-3, 204-pound receiver spent nearly four months learning from Moss before the 49ers released Tyms, and he latched on with the Miami Dolphins before the 2012 season. Tyms has bounced around the league since his rookie season, but he’s opened some eyes with his performance this summer in New England

But there is a catch to the whole Tyms situation. NESN reports that he will start the season with a four game suspension for taking ADHD medication which wasn't cleared through the NFL.

Although he may not make the roster for the Patriots, he certainly has a great chance if he keeps performing like he did on Thursday Night.
