Sammy Watkins re-injured in preseason finale

Wideout Sammy Watkins, who the Buffalo Bills selected out of Clemson with the 4th pick in the draft, re-injured a nagging rib injury in last night's preseason game against the Lions. His status for the team's season opener is now in jeopardy.

Watkins, who was making waves throughout training camp with some filthy catches, got rocked on an incomplete pass by Lions linebacker Ashlee Palmer, with Palmer's elbow catching Sammy right in the ribs. Soon after, Watkins was on his way to the locker room.

The Patriots will potentially get their first look at Watkins when they visit the Bills week 6. For now, his status for playing in Week 1 is up in the air.
